Sculptor
Born at Penpont, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. He was the son of George, a stonemason and was initially his father's mortar-boy. After initial success, from the late 1860s Burnard neglected his career and took to drink. He returned to Cornwall c.1875 and wandered the countryside offering drawings in return for food and lodgings. He died in Redruth workhouse.
