Alexander MacDonald

Sculptor
He was the son of the Scottish sculptor Lawrence MacDonald (1799-1878). Alexander carved the headstone for his father's tomb in the Protestant cemetery in Rome. It comprises a 'Roman'-style headstone with acroteria, a relief of a sculptor’s tools in the tympanum, and a bas-relief portrait medallion on the front face.
