Sculptor
Born in or near Aberdeen. Gave his name as Henry Bain Smith when exhibiting in Aberdeen, as Bain-Smith at the Royal Academy and Bainsmith in Census Returns of 1891. In 1889 he married the sculptor (Sarah) Georgina Bucknell and they had one son. Amongst Henry's known works is a statue of Robert Burns situated in Union Terrace, Aberdeen which was unveiled in 1892. There are also five portrait busts and a maquette for the statue of Burns in the Aberdeen Art Gallery collection.
