Born Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire. Studied at Glasgow School of Art, London and Paris. Setteld in Glasgow where he taught at GSA. Founded a metalwork and Design Studio in Glasgow in the 1890's. Wrote a book on educational metalcraft in 1927
