Sculptor, publisher's assistant, minister
Born at Edinburgh, 1808. Studied at the University and New College, Edinburgh. In early life Mr. Gall was associated with his father in business as a publisher. He organised the mission and Sabbath-school work for Lady Glenorchy's congregation. Married, 1833, Mary Campbell. In 1858 Mr. Gall commenced a mission which soon outgrew the accommodation that could be found in Carrubber's Close. Special buildings were ultimately erected for the work. Ordained by the Free Church Presbytery of Edinburgh to the pastorate of Moray Church, 1861. Retired, 1871, but did not cease his evangelistic labours. [Vol.2 gives the dates 1862-1872.] He was instrumental in establishing the mission premises of the New North Church, and organising the mission work there. Died, 1895.
