Born Estonia, attended evening classes at the Glasgow School of Art 1914-17, eventually became the Head of Sculpture in 1938-60. Appointed Her Majesty's Sculptor in Ordinary for Scotland, 1963. Exhibited widely throughout Britain, Israel and the USA.
