Listed as a Council Member of the Royal Academy from 1860 to 1863. Not listed between 1864 and 1869, but listed again in 1870. The 1870 report notes that Scott 'accepted the rotation to serve on the Council, consequent upon the death of Mr. Creswick, but subsequently resigned on finding it impossible, from his numerous engagements, to fulfill the required duties'. The post was filled by the Keeper in March 1870: see Royal Academy 'Annual Reports'.
Scott is listed again from 1877 until his death in 1878.
