Born in London. Studied at the South Kensington School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools where he was sponsored by his sister-in-law’s brother J. W. Waterhouse. Seems to have become a teacher and then professor of music and the organ post-1900. [See Census Returns of 1901 and 1911 RG13 piece 487 folio 10 page 11 and RG14PN2390 RG78PN79 RD26 SD6 ED21 SN257]
