The War Memorial in Ledbury Herefordshire was by a J. Thewlis of Headlingly. The stone used is oolitic limestone with granite plaques on which the names are inscribed. There are mosaics depicting an angel, a soldier and a seaman on the lower section of the memorial. This information was supplied by Jenny Harrison. The attribution to Joseph Thewlis has yet to be confirmed, but the connection to Headingley suggests the memorial was either his work or his firm.
Wealth at death: £772 9s. 10d.
Probate date: 6 March 1921
