Sculptor, civil servant
Born in St Albans. Son of William Roche, clergyman (born c.1808 in London). Primary employment was as a clerk in a bank (c.1871) and by c.1881 in the Secretary's Office of the GPO (General Post Office). His brother Walter, also a sculptor, worked in the same office at the GPO. There is no record of him in the census returns after 1891, so he may have worked abroad. However, he ultimately retired to his brother's house in Norfolk, The Grange, Tasburgh, Norwich where he died.
