Born in West ham, Essex. She was the daughter of Walter John Bray (born c.1859 in Lambeth), surveyor. Jessamine married Robert Dawe in Chelsea in 1938. Bray worked with the sculptor and modeller Sybil V. Williams from the mid-1920s, they are associated with the Dulwich Pottery. They showed pottery statuettes at the Beaux Arts Gallery, Bruton Place, 1929; the Graves Gallery, Sloane Street, 1933; and the Connell Galleries, Conduit Street, 1935.
