Jeweller, painter, craftsman
Born in Nottingham in 1861, moved to Birmingham in 1862. Working for the architects Martin and Chamberlain in 1878. Studied tempera painting in Italy in 1883 and taught this method of painting to Arthur Gaskin. First exhibited a water colour painting at the Royal Acadmey in 1895. Frequently exhibited with the New English Art Club, and was elected a member of the Club in 1925. There are a number of works by him the collection of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. He died in Birmingham.
