Born in Derry, son of Alexander Haslett of Haslett Bros. Monumental Sculptors. Tained at Belfast School of Art, local architects and builders consulted him on use of stone as 'he could tell at a glance the type and probable origin of any piece' (Dictionary of Irish Artists: 20th Century, p. 173)
