Born in Ireland. She was the daughter of William H.F. Verschoyle. Kathleen married W.K.P. Hogan (known as Patrick) in 1932. At the outbreak of the Second World War they were living at The Vicarage, Horsford, in Norfolk where Patrick was a Clerk in Holy Orders.
