Miss Kathleen Trousdell Shaw
Other names: Her middle name is sometimes spelt 'Trowsdell'
Born 6 September 1865 (Presumed)
Died 13 June 1958
Active: 1886 - 1914
Country of birth: Ireland
Country of death: England
Sculptor, medallist
Born in Edmonton, Middlesex. Her parents were Alfred Shaw and Annie Birch from Ireland. It appears her father died before 1911, and, based on information in the Census Returns of 1911, she was adopted by Rosamund Venning (1848-1928). Shaw and Venning were resident in separate parts of the same building in 1901. This is presumed to be the start of the connection between them. When Rosamund died in 1928 she left effects valued at £4,754 1s. 11d. and Kathleen was her executor.
This record includes information about her date of birth submitted by E. Crawford, and Russell Cooper (who is a distant cousin of the artist).
Wealth at death: £18,335 8s. 5d.
Probate date: 3 November 1958
