Born in Dublin. Son of the medallist William Woodhouse (1805-1878, active until c. 1847). Forrer notes that the artist's death 'probably took place towards the end of the eighties'. See Forrer, vol. 6, (1916), p. 547 and p. 551.

Listed as a medallist and die-sinker who was born and educated in Dublin. Trained and worked with his father William Woodhouse (1805-1878). Won various medals in Dublin from c. 1853. In 1862 he won the Prize Medal of the Royal Hibernian Academy 'for his skill in modelling' and became an Associate of the Academy in 1863. Forrer lists numerous medals produced between c. 1864 and 1884. See Forrer, vol. 6, (1916), pp. 546-550.
