She and Rosa Howlett were members of the suffragette movement. Their political activities are more widely recorded than their art. They were evidently known to Virginia Woolf as they are mentioned in her diary ('The Diary of Virginia Woolf, 1936-1941', Volume 5, edited by Anne Olivier Bell, p. 51).
