Born in Chester, Cheshire. Died at Brompton Hospital, Fulham Road, London and the funeral took place at Golders Green Crematorium on Friday 8 October 1937. This was attended by a number of representatives of the Royal Society of British Sculptors: William Reid Dick, Gilbert Ledward, Charles Hartwell, Alfred Hardiman, Alan Howes, Bertram Pegram, Frederick Brook Hitch, Hermon Cawthra, Thomas Mewburn Crook, Albert Toft and Harold Brownsword.
