Born in London. He was the son of Henry Pegram, a china shopman (and later a manufacturer of perambulators and rocking horses) and grandson of Thomas W. Pegram. Studied at West London School of Art and from 1881-87 at the Royal Academy Schools. Died at his home, 72 Belsize Park Gardens, Belsize Park.
He primarily created busts and reliefs, but there were also many groups, models, statuettes, and medallions on religious or classical themes. His preferred media was bronze but he also worked in marble. (Relationship to Alfred Bertram Pegram not yet established).
