Born in Schlierbach, Germany. Weigele studied under Jules Francheschi (himself a pupil of Francois Rude). He became a member of the Societaire des Artistes Français in 1902 and exhibited at the Paris Salon. Weigele specialised in busts and an example of his work, Athena, is in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He died at Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine. There are twelve of his works listed in the catalogue of the Musee d'Orsay.
