Siegfried (Stephen) Makepeace Wiens
Born 1871 (Circa)
Died 1956
Active: 1893 - 1945
Country of birth and death: England
Painter, sculptor
Born in Forest Hill, Kent. Son of Heinrich Wiens (born c.1838 in Germany and a naturalised British subject), was a merchant and employer. According to the Census Returns of 1901 both father and son were deaf. When Heinrich died in 1916 his estate was valued at £6,401. It is likely therefore that Siegfried had some financial support from his family. Siegfried anglicized his name to Stephen and died in Worthing in 1956.
