Exhibited twice, 2 works (in 1847, cat. no, 1306 'Design; Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk, the seat of S.M. Peto, Esq.', and in 1848 cat. no. 1303 'A Gothic Nitch' sic.). Graves lists Dighton as an architect but this is probably an incorrect assumption.

'Retired Army Captain' this appears to be Thomas Dighton based on his place of birth and the name of his wife and daughter. However the birth date (c.1811) and above all the occupation do not match. This could be an error i transcription or perhaps Dighton had served in the territorials? The reason for believing this is Thomas Dighton the architectural modeller is that he died a year later in the village of South Molton.
