Born 3 January 1872
Died 19 November 1908
Active: 1891 - 1908
Country of birth and death: England
Sculptor, medallist
Born in Chelsea, London. He was the son of Robert Glassby Senior (1835-92) who was a sculptor and principal studio assistant to Joseph Edgar Boehm between 1870-90. Robert Edward Junior studied at the Royal Academy Schools and executed a number of medals shown at the Royal Academy between 1890-3. Around 1900 he was teaching modelling in clay or wax at Battersea Polytechnic and Putney School of Art (the duration of these posts has not been ascertained). There is some confusion in Graves (1905) and possibly also in Forrer (1923) between work produced by father and son. Robert Edward Junior died in his mid-thirties.
