Wood carver, stone carver, sculptor, possibly also silversmith
Born in Westminster. He was the father of the sculptor and teacher William Silver Frith (1850-1924) and the grandfather of Edgar Silver Frith (1890-1974) sculptor. In 1841 Henry was either working as a carver in Dunchurch, Warwickshire or as a silversmith in Finsbury. Based on the evidence of the birthplace of his oldest son Henry (born c.1848 in Bridgetts sp?), his work then took him to Cheshire and possibly other counties. By 1850 Frith had settled in Leicester where he ran a sculpture, stone and wood carving business which was employing two masons, a boy and an apprentice (perhaps one of his sons) in 1861. Soon after this he moved to Gloucester where he died in 1863.
