Stonemason, architectural sculptor
Born in Totnes, Devon. He was the first of four generations of stone masons and architectural sculptors who operated a business from near Vincent Square in London. His son, John Daymond II (c.1821-1898) continued the firm which was in turn taken over by John Daymond III (c.1847-1934) and finally John Dudley Daymond (1879-1954). Other sons of John Daymond I were also masons, these included: Andrew (born c.1826) and Charles (born c.1838). John Daymond I may have died in 1860.
