Bronze founder
Born in Surbiton, Surrey. Son of John Hollinshead (born c.1829 in Kingston, Surrey) a waiter. Arthur Hollinshead served his apprenticeship with Thomas Cox, the owner of Cox and Sons and founder of the bronze foundry in Summer Road, Thames Ditton. Hollinshead was connected to the foundry for almost twenty-five years, first as an employee and then as a joint proprietor with Arthur Burton. Amongst Hollinshead's more famous castings was Onslow Ford's equestrian statue of the Maharajah of Mysore.
