Born in Brescia, Italy. He stated he was a naturalised British citizen in the Census returns of 1911. However, a Carlo Domenico Magnoni was naturalised on 29 March 1954. In 1919 Magnoni carved the Waggoner's memorial in Sledmere to the design of Lieutenant Colonel Sir Mark Sykes, MP. Magnoni died between April and June 1961.
