Policy: Produced ornamental cast ironwork; railings, crestings, terminals, fountains, bandstands, canopies and larger structures.
History or description: Originlly known as Jackson, Brown and Cuthbert, (3 ex-staff from the Saracen Foundry, Macfarlane & Co). In 188 a key figure, William Cassells from Saracen left to his job as a designer and draftsmen to take up the same post at Lion. Cassells was succeeded by James Leitch, who was responsible for many of the Art Nouveau designs - a specialism only offered by Carron Co.
Jackson left in 1881 to set up Jackson Elphick & Co Lt in Lanark.
Constructed the County Arcade in Leeds, the London Hippodrome, and Finsbury Park Empire.
