Rules: 1. A council, consisting of a President who must be alternately Artist and Lay, holding office for three years. Same applies to Vice-Presidents, Honorary Secretaries, and Honorary Treasurers. Commitee alos comprised of six Artist members and six Lay. The president and Office-bearers were elected by the council.

4. An Artists' meeting (arranges exhibitions) muct be presided over by an Artist - not Lay member.
5. The Lauder Bequest. Artist member who bequethed £250, and her husband who also left a bequest of £1,062 os. 4d. this sum being paid to the club in 1922.
History or description: Started by eight women students of the Glasgow School of Art in order to start a society for the furtherance of Art.
Encouraged by Mr Robert Greenless, Head of The Glasgow School of Art who provided studio space for their first exhibition and meetings.
It is oldest residential club for women in Scotland and Great Britain, the nearest to it in date being the 'Ladies' club in Manchester (1883) and the first women's club in London 'University Women's Club' (1887)
