History or description: Born in Italy c.1830. Benedetto was naturalised as a British citizen and died in Manchester in 1895. On 28 October 1875 a 'Benedetto Lanata' was tried at the General Quarter Sessions for the county of Lancaster and sentenced to three calendar months in prison for receipt of stolen goods.
