Between 1891 and 1911 Grace worked as a stone, marble and monumental mason from 14 and then 33 Hassell Street. Around 1891 she was employing her oldest son Herbert born c.1871 but he had set up his own business by 1901. In 1901 she was listed on her own but in 1911 she had her son Harry (born c.1877) working as a stone mason living with her.
