History or description: Terence (Terry) Clarke was the second or third of the six children of the marriage between Walter Clarke and Minnie Crilly. Walter Clarke was the older brother of the stained glass designer Harry Clarke (1889-1931) and Minnie was the younger sister of his wife, Margaret (a renowned portrait artist). Terry worked as a stained glass designer at the Harry Clarke Studios from about 1940 to his death in 1968. He was the only one of that family to do so. Terry lived and worked at 33 North Frederick Street, a large Georgian house, for most of his life.
