McGloughlin's work promoted by The Irish Builder, 11 November 1916.
'Wrought Iron Work at the Honan Hostel Chapel Cork'.
'The gate, which is about 8 ft by 4 ft is an admirable example of Irish smiths' work and is executed entirely in wrought iron. The design is based on characteristic Celtic ornament, and no two panels are alike. The frame is all of square and rectangular sections, and the work is carried out in round sections interlaced one over the other, and presents a remarkable and pleasing effect, quite out of the common. Altogether the work reflects the highest credit upon the makers, Messrs. McGloughlin, and the gate is an interesting contribution to the fine and artistic items of work assembled in this new chapel. It is well worthy of a place beside the beautiful stained glass and embroidery which the chapel contains, all, it is gratifying to note, Irish made'.
