Charles Adron
1851
Function: Stone mason, marble mason, statuary
History or description: Charles Adron (c.1787-1865) was a member of a multi-generational family of stonemasons and statuaries active from 1748. Charles was born in Durham and he ran the family firm in Quickset Row with his older brother William II (1780-1867). Their father, also William I (d.1809) was the founder of the firm, it is possible that his brother Samuel was also involved in the business. There are details of works executed by the Adron family in Roscoe, p. 8.
