The Titan Foundry Company Limited
Foundation date: 1920
Active: 1920 - 1951
Function: Brass foundry, iron foundry
History or description: 1951
'The Titan Foundry was established in 1920, producing mainly marine castings. Over the years, and mainly due to the decline in shipping between the wars, the firm increased its range and municipal and building castings were produced. In 1938, a change in management took place and three years after the end of the last war a new foundry was conceived, which has been in operation for the past nine months. Further extensions are still in progress. The new building has extended the scope of the business a great deal and all types of iron castings up to five tons in weight can now be produced. Furnace, building and municipal castings are still produced, but the main output consists of machine tool, a general engineering and power transmission castings for which a rigorous system of control and inspection is necessary to meet the exacting requirements...
...The past thirty-one years, steady progress. The future, greater achievement.'
