Description: 'In the west nave there is to be a cast-iron open-work dome, the joint emanation of the Coalbrook Dale Company and Mr. Bell, sculptor. It is supported on six double pillars, is of elaborate rustic cast-iron work, bronzed, and to the top of the weather-vane (formed by a statuette of "Eolus") is 49 feet, weighing 15 tons' (The Builder, 29 March 1851, p. 198).
