Description: Memorial tablet commissioned by the Royal Academy.
Notes: The memorial tablet was designed by William Curtis Green RA (architect) and this was approved by the Council of the Royal Academy in October 1944. An estimate for £180 for its execution was obtained from John William Drake and approved by Council in April 1945. However Drake actually received £220 according to the Royal Academy Annual Report of 1946. It was paid for out of the Leighton Fund. The finished piece was accepted by Council in February 1946 and subsequently erected in the Crypt of St Paul's Cathedral on the 9 May 1946.
