Description: Science represented as a sage and the Spirit of Science depicted as an angelic form. The latter is removing a veil from the head of a youth. Two other youths on the right of the work receive instruction from the Sage. There is a written description of the work on p. 13 of the catalogue: 'It is [...] in some sense an allegorical representation of what the exhibition is designed to effect for benighted minds in the Principality.'
