Description: The seated figure of St Brigid bends her head towards a female supplicant who is shown kneeling with her head in the saint's lap.
Notes: The legend of St Brigid is especially important to the Celtic revival movement. Praeger had carved a large scale version of this work in marble c.1903 which she is reported to have been sited in her studio. She also exhibited a pottery figure of St Brigid which she had made for the Della Robbia company in 1904 under the title 'Noamh Brigid Cille Darra [St Brigid of the Convent of the Oak]. (McBrinn (207) p. 47)
