Policy: 'The regulations for exhibitors are the usual ones. Commission on sales, 5 per cent. London agents: Messrs. Dicksee & Co., 7, Ryder Street, St. James’s, S.W. All letters respecting the Exhibition are to be addressed to Mr. William Stanfield, Curator, the City Art Gallery, Manchester. [...] The sum of £2,000 per annum, with the net profits arising from exhibitions, is available for purchase of works of Art for the permanent collection and during the last nine years the sum of £28,151 has been so expended' (Year's Art, 1894, pp. 138-39).
