Description: The Slade Scholarship was set up under the Will of Felix Slade who donated six scholarships of £50 per annum each. The scholarships were tenable for three years. Two scholarships could be awarded each year. The scholarships were awarded for 'proficiency in Drawing, Painting and Sculpture'.
The scholarships were still being offered under the same conditions until 1893-1894. From 1894-1895, however, the scholarship was reduced to £35 per annum for two years.
Policy: Students had to be under nineteen years of age. The scholarships were open to men and women.
