Description: The exhibition contained 170 works by artists from the following societies:
Bedford Society of Artists, Mansfield Society of Artists, Northampton Town and County Art Society, Nottingham Society of Artists and the Peterborough Art Society. The exhibition included painting and sculpture. Two works of sculpture were shown; both were created by Joyce Finlinson, a member of the Bedford Society of Artists.
Policy: The exhibition is described in the exhibition catalogue 'Foreword' as being the second of its kind and its purpose being to 'strengthen the artistic interests of the Midlands by means of co-operation.' The selection committee was composed of two members from each participating society and 'certain honorary members selected by the Committee of the Federation' [summary].
