Description: It was recommended in the Report of the Castle Museum and School of Art Committee (1904) that these exhibitions should not continue to be organised under the Castle Museum and that 'the time had come when such an Exhibition should no longer be held in the Public Gallery, but that it should be undertaken by the Nottingham Society of Artists, and for the future incorporated within the Annual Exhibition of the Works of that Society' [summary].
The 1909 report recorded that after a lapse of four years these exhibitions resumed in May 1908.
