Policy: The Preface stated that 'for many years past a number of Artists in Birmingham have been engaged in work the object of which is to inspire vitality, individuality and beauty into articles of every-day use.
The Society of Artists, conscious of the value of such efforts, and that pictures are not the only works of art which may claim its consideration, feels that the time has come to hold an Exhibition of Arts and Crafts which will give to the Birmingham public an opportunity of seeing the work which is being carried on in its midst' [summary].
