Description: Exhibition divided into 3 sections:
A. Natural Products, including minerals, vegetables, animal products and chemical products.
B. Works of Art, including sculpture, plastic art paintings, engravings, enamels and stained glass.
C. Industries and Manufactures, including marble, pottery, porcelain, wood carving, metalwork, furniture, textiles, fabric, lace and scientific inventions.
Policy: 'The Exhibition was to be more especially devoted to illustrating and promoting the resources of Ireland, and with that object in mind a separate and important portion of the building [the extensive series of Buildings forming the Exhibition Palace], known as the 'Leinster Hall', was set apart exclusively for the Irish department of the Exhibition. British Productions and those of other countries were to occupy the Main Glass Building. The Loan Museum was to be placed in part of the Permanent Building'.
Display Arrangement: Works of 'Irish' origin to hang in 'Leinster Hall', objects of British and mainland European origin to hang in Main Glass Building. Detailed ground plan of the exhibition halls featured in original catalogue of 1872.
