Description: 'Mr. J. Starkie Gardner explained the meaning of the words Cups and Flagons. Mr. E. F. Strange and Mr. W. Watts spoke on the design of some early cups, and showed some interesting lantern-slides. There was a small exhibition' (AWG annual report, 1907, p. 6).
Policy: 'Founded in 1883, with the object of bringing into closer union the workers in various arts and crafts - architects, painters, designers of all kinds, sculptors and wood carvers, metal-workers, goldsmiths, and many others - chiefly by evening meetings and discussions on different lines and methods in art. Meetings are held fortnightly, when papers are read and their subjects illustrated as fully as possible. Visitors must be introduced by a member' (Year's Art, 1908, p. 147).
