Description: Paper by Anning Bell, read by Townsend (AWG Annual report, 1902, p. 7).
Policy: 'Founded in 1883, with the object of bringing into closer union the workers in various arts and crafts - architects, painters, designers of all kinds, sculptors and wood carvers, metal workers, goldsmiths, and many others - chiefly by evening meetings and discussions on different lines and methods in art. Meetings are held fortnightly, when papers are read and their subjects illustrated as fully as possible. The meetings are not open to the public' (Year's Art, 1902, p. 127).
