Sculptor
He was the third son of Terence Farrell and the most successful sculptor in Ireland in the second half of the 19th century. Thomas studied first in his father's studio and then at the modelling school of the Royal Dublin Society from 1842. He exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy for over fifty years and was elected its President in 1893. Farrell was responsible for many public statues in Dublin.
