Born in Buckinghamshire. Sarah was the daughter of Edward Terry (born c.1800 in Buckinghamshire), master brewer. After her father's death she lived with her mother in Richmond and then with her sister in Hastings from about 1901. Terry practiced as an artist up to 1881 but seems to have ceased activity after this date. She died in Hastings in 1913.
