Policy: (Prospectus 1922-1937)
1. To provide for the study of the Decorative and Fine Arts.
2. To impact a knowledge of the Theory, Principles, and Practice of Art, with a view to their application.
3. The object of the School is to supplement, not to supercede, apprenticeship, by affording to Trade Students opportunities for Studying Design and for Practice in those Branches of their Craft which, owing to the sub-division of processes of manufacture, they are unable to obtain in the workshop.
4. Special arrangements and facilities are provided to enable Students to carry out and complete their Designs in the actual material for which they are intended.
5. To provide Special Courses for Secondary and Elementary Teachers who wish to qualify for Drawing Certificates.
History or description: Founded in Castle Buildings in 1907 and moved to Coleshill Terrace in 1908, the School was transferred to the Pembrey Road building in 1946.
